A Telluride Winter Wedding ….Billy Idol’s, “White Wedding,” has been stuck in my head as I am editing these images. the main line, “It’s a fun theme for this intimate wedding celebration at the Alpino Vino in Telluride, Colorado. Andrea and John’s wedding integrated world-class landscapes, a stylish wedding party, and the classy planning of Amy Palamar, owner of Polished Fun Event Planning.I really enjoyed documenting Andrea and John’s laugher, tears, and family memories. It was unforgettable taking the snow cat to the top of the mountain to see a magnificent view of Telluride. The professional and knowledgeable staff at the Alpino Vino will be well remembered, as the sun set and the party enjoyed their five cuisine and world famous wines. The snow swirled and danced in the wind as the blue horizon faded into black outside the chalet. The warm guests ate at the fireside, while celebrating the love that Andrea and John had found in each other.
Ten years ago, Renee and I where seduced by the magnificent landscapes of Telluride. On the San Juan mountains are visually stunning and supplies us with all the outdoor activities we indulge in. Another reason that kept us returning was our friend Joe Holbert. Joe’s hospitality, kindness, love and living example of how to thrive in nature and community was so inviting and irresistible. Joe inspired me to grow my wedding photography business in the Telluride area so I could spend a lot more time in a place that is life giving to me. This lovely wedding is the first of many in the area and I am excited for all the trips yet to happen. In September 2016, Joe died in a car accident right outside of Telluride. He would be so happy to know I am photographing weddings in his treasured home town. Today, I celebrate Joe’s life, our friendship, and his example of love. I know the Telluride community will miss Joe’s bigger than life personality. I’m forever changed from his love and Telluride’s beauty. Telluride has became a one of those places my soul flourishes in. I’m excited for all the weddings, and time in nature that awaits me as I continue to photograph more weddings in this community. May we be so blessed to have friends that help us reach our fullest potential and have time to learn the lessons nature has to teach us.
